We are now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Advisor to join our Major Projects team located in the Grafton/ Ballina Area in Northern NSW. Working under the Major Projects Manager NSW/ACT this role involves the coordination and monitoring of the Northern Projects sites with a focus on Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. This is a fixed term contract with a 2 year duration with a possible extension of an extra 12 months

The main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Own HSE outcomes within the Northern projects team
  • To integrate HSE functions and utilise the use of the Boral Production System to provide resolve Environmental and safety concerns and promote employee engagement
  • Facilitate specialist HSE advice within the projects
  • Provide coordination and implementation of the HSE activities within the projects
  • Conduct HSE Audits and Inspections within the projects
  • Lead and/or facilitate the investigation process within the Projects
  • Facilitate communication, feedback and interaction between employees and managers and the principal contractor regarding HSE issues
To be successful in this position you must have the following qualifications, experience and competencies:
  • Tertiary qualifications in HSE or related fields
  • Ability to work under supervision and independently
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safety and Environmental Legislation
  • Strong report and management plan writing skills
  • Good auditing skills
  • Well developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people
  • Good Communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word and Excel)
  • Strong customer focus
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
