Connecting Families are currently looking for casual, part time and full time staff who have the flexibility to work during weekdays and weekends. To give a young person (male or female between the ages of 0 and 18) in need of social, recreational development and emotional support. You will assist with contact between a parent/family members and their children and provide transportation if needed for the child/children. The companionship of an adult to supplement the work of parents, teachers, counselors, social workers and other social services and education professionals.
Supervision and Transportation of children from sport or normal activities during contact
Monitoring the child's safety, well-being and welfare in care of the parent at all times
Developing relationships with the children's family and significant others
Travel required across the Sydney Metropolitan region and on occasions rural areas
The mentor will be assigned to present as an example/role model to demonstrate self-realisation and improve self-esteem to young people
Maintain the usual routine of the young person such as following medication, support plans, behavioural plans
The mentor will constantly work on the young person's positive development through demonstration and participation of various activities to assist in reaching important personal goals.
Provide complete and accurate documentation of respite care during/after and comply with all reporting requirements.
